Our Method of Teaching

Step I  - Demonstration of Techniques with students taking notes.

Step II - Leading the students through the techniques with one student following the instructor and practicing on fellow student.

Step II  - The students switch positions and follow the instructor. 

Step IV - Students practice on each other with instructor supervision. 

Note: Each day begins with one hour of Thai Yoga exercise. The purpose of this exercise is to promote flexibility and well being of the practitioner.

TMCA COURSES:

 Course Number 1: Level I: Introduction to Thai Massage (Nuad Bo-Rarn)

Duration : 15 Hours      CEUs:  7.5             Category: A

Prerequisite: None.

Course outline:

In the first segment of the program, students learn the concept of initiating “energy” movement through the body. Meridians, main energy lines, pressure points and various manifestations of the body’s physical, psychological and spiritual balance are all introduced.

This course establishes the foundation of professional Thai massage. The concepts of meridians, energy lines (Sen), and Yin and Yang are introduced. This course covers practical aspects such as stretches, acupressure points, proper use of body weight, and techniques using thumbs, palms, elbows, and feet. Additional emphasis is placed on deep, focused abdominal (Hara) work. A total of 63 different techniques and movements to be used in this massage.
At the end of the course, students will be able to perform an effective 1½ hour treatment sequence covering the front (lying on the back) and the back part of the body.

Course Number 2:  Level II: Intermediate Thai Massage. (Nuad Bo-Rarn).

Duration : 15 Hours            CEUs: 7.5            Category : A

Prerequisite: Level I.

Course outline:

For the student who is interested in a more in-depth application of energetic system, Ancient Thai Massage II is the next step.

 Level II builds upon Level I and continues to the side, back (lying on the stomach), and sitting positions. Students learn advanced yoga stretching positions and additional techniques using knees and fists. A total of 70 different techniques and movements to be used in this massage.
Upon completion of Level I and II, students have a substantial foundation of understanding in complete major positions of Thai Massage and can expect to perform a comprehensive 3-hour treatment.

 Evaluation: Practical 1 hour

Course Number 3: Level III: Advanced Sen – Energy Lines. (Nuad Bo-Rarn).

Duration : 15 Hours

Prerequisite: Level I and II.

 Course outline:  Thai massage is based on the idea that there are energy channels or Sen running through the body. When the Sen becomes blocked, the energy becomes inactive and the body loses its balance causing discomfort or illness to a person.

This advanced level takes students to the in-depth look at the 10 major energy lines (Sen) and their application combined to the routines learned in Level I and II. More emphasis is placed on opening and activating these ten lines. The theory and comparison of Sen with fourteen meridians (Chinese), Nadi(Indian) and Reiki will be discussed.

Evaluation: Practical 1 hour

Course Number 4: Level IV: Advanced Therapeutic Thai Massage. (Nuad Bo-Rarn).

Duration : 15 Hours                   CEUs: 7.5            Category: A

Prerequisite: Level I , II and III.

 Course outline:  This advanced course takes a closer look at Thai massage as a therapy. It introduces new pressure points to relieve ailments such as headache, back pain, shoulder and neck stiffness, headache and numbness in legs and arms, etc. Students will learn not only how to locate the points, but also how to work properly on these points for effective healing.
The new acupressure points combine new advanced moves with previously learned routines in Level I and II. These acupressure points are compared with the Chinese acupuncture points.

Evaluation: Practical 1 hour.

Course Number 5: Level V:  Advanced Therapeutic Tsubo Massage (Chinese-Japanese).

                                  Known by Hand Healing Massage which was originated in China.

Duration : 24 Hours

Prerequisite: Level I , II , III &IV

 Course outline: 

This is a special course from TMCA, which teaches the Principles and specific treatments for many conditions, it’s based on the original hand healing massage practiced in China, Korea and Japan. All these kinds of treatments are based on the functioning of the internal organs and the nervous system.

The course teaches and explains oriental massage as a way of performing certain operations on the vital points called Tsubo to bring relief from a number of illnesses. With this combination of Chinese and Japanese treatments has become a subject of great interest and admiration around the world.

 Some of the subject in this course will include Tsubo on the human body;

 Practical massage techniques / Massage treatments for many conditions / Massage for the well being / Cosmetic massage.

Course Number 6: Thai Foot Reflexology and Leg massage course.

Duration: 15 hours                 CEUs:  7.5           Category: A 

Prerequisite: None.

 Course outline:  Students learn how to inspect the reflex points on the feet which coincide with each organ and system in the body. More emphasis is placed on a hands-on techniques used to loosen up and relax the feet as well as to stimulate reflexes. The Thai-style application techniques using a stick will be introduced. The course will include history of reflexology, basic information about Thai massage and the study of the different Zones of the feet.

A total of 63 different techniques and movements to be used in this massage. The course will include the special training to use the wooden stick (the magic stick) we use in this type of massage.

Evaluation: Practical 1 hour.

Course Number 7: Thai Hand Reflexology and Arm massage course.  

Duration : 10 hours                  CEUs: 5           Category: A

Prerequisite: None.

 Course outline:  Students learn how to inspect the reflex points on the hands which coincide with each organ and system in the body. More emphasis is placed on a hands-on techniques used to loosen up and relax the hands as well as to stimulate reflexes.

The course will include history of reflexology, basic information about Thai massage and the study of the different Zones of the hands. A total of 15 different techniques and movements to be used in this massage.

Evaluation: Practical 1 hour.

Course Number 8: Thai Face, Neck, head, Ear massage and Reflexology course.    (Nuad Phaen Boran Thai)

Duration:  12 hours                   CEUs:  6           Category: A

Prerequisite: None.

 Course outline:  Students learn how to inspect the reflex points on the face, head and ears which coincide with each organ and system in the body. Will learn also the special techniques to carry the head and face relaxation massage.  The course will include history of reflexology, basic information about Thai massage and the study of the different Zones for these body parts.

Evaluation: Practical 1 hour.

Course Number 9: Thai Chair massage. (Nuad Bo-Rarn).

Duration: 10 hours                CEUs:  5           Category: A

Prerequisite: None.

Course outline:

-A brief introduction to Thai massage and its types and when it’s used.

-Thai massage history will be discussed, the benefits of Thai massage will be discussed and an introduction to our Thai massage ethics will be introduced.

-Students will learn the massage sequence which deal with all the pressure points of the

  posterior of the upper body. Also will learn, how to choose the proper way of

  Standing during the practice, so the massage will be very effective.

 -Students will learn also, the popular seated acupressure sequence for the

    Neck, shoulders, back, hips, arms, hands and head.

-Students will learn the use of hands, elbows, thumbs, fingers on the above body parts, as well as the use of two different massage tools we use for this type of massage ( this include the magic finger and magic hand ).

-A total of 60 different techniques and movements to be used in this massage.

 Evaluation: Practical 1 hour.

Course Number 10: Thai Massage Course (Chiang Mai style).

Duration : 15 hours

Prerequisite: None.

 Course outline:  This course establishes the foundation of the second most popular Thai massage in the north of Thailand. This course covers practical aspects such as stretches, acupressure points, proper use of body weight, and techniques using thumbs, palms, elbows, and feet.
At the end of the course, students will be able to perform an effective 1 – 3 hours treatment sequence covering the front, the back, the side of the body and sitting positions. 

The course will include some advanced techniques used in this type of massage.

Students will learn the use of proper Wight balance which should be used for the safety of the clients. The usage Thai herbal hot compress will be discussed and its relation with this type of Thai massage.

Students learn advanced yoga stretching positions and additional techniques using knees and fists.
 The course consists of 62 movements and techniques.

Evaluation: Practical 1 hour.

Course Number 11: Thai Herbal Hot Compress.

Duration : 15 hours

Prerequisite: None.

Course outline:  This course explores the world of fine Thai herbs and their use in hot compress a centuries-old method of Thai remedy. Students will learn the benefits and the properties of Thai herbs, how to prepare and make herbal ball and the hands-on technique of applying herbal balls using hot steam in conjunction with traditional Thai massage.

The history of Thai massage will be discussed.

Evaluation: Practical 1 hour.

Course Number 12 : Table Thai Massage I     (Nuad Bo-Rarn)

Duration : 15 Hours 

Prerequisite: None.

Course outline:

  This 30 hour course is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the key elements of table Thai massage. After finishing this course, participants will have the confidence to perform a full 90 minute table Thai massage session.

The concepts of meridians, energy lines (Sen), and Yin and Yang are introduced. This course covers practical aspects such as stretches, acupressure points, proper use of body weight, and techniques using thumbs, palms, elbows, and feet. Additional emphasis is placed on deep, focused abdominal (Hara) work.

Course Number 13 : Table Thai Massage II (Nuad Bo-Rarn)

Duration : 15 Hours

Prerequisite: Table Thai Massage I.

Course outline:

This 30 hour course is designed to introduce the next building block of Thai Massage. Students will learn more advanced postures, touch techniques and stances at this level, which integrate with level I. For the student who is interested in a more in-depth application of energetic system, Ancient Thai Massage II is the next step.

 Level II builds upon Level I and continues to the side, back (lying on the stomach), and sitting positions. Students learn advanced yoga stretching positions and additional techniques using knees and fists.

Course Number 14 : Aromatherapy .

Duration : 12 Hours              CEUs: 6            Category: B

Prerequisite: None.

Course outline:

         Introduction to Thai massage history and why it’s connected to aromatherapy.

         Introduction to Essential oils and its types.

         The course teach the students how to use the essential oils to treat the body, things you can use during the massage and after for the well being.  Also talk about the different recipes you can make to do your own fragrances and perfumes.
